Best wishes for 2016

Hi,

I am Martin and a geographer and WebGIS Developer (no Freelancer, therefore with proprietary software (ESRI)).

- Skill set relevant to ONC
Javascript, Java, OGC Services, dynamic interactive WebMapping and GIS, PostGIS, UMN Mapserver, Geoserver, QGIS
- Projects under way
At the moment I am focused on my OpenDEM project, but if interesting stuff comes away...
- Future project preferences
I thinking about an Catalog Services Interface for OpenLayers 3 where WMS Services could be loaded directly into OL3.
There are a lot of great WMS available regarding nautical and sea information.
It is a pitty that this information is not collected and served in a structured way.

If it fits I will also contribute to OSeaM, since user generated depth data is interesting stuff for me.

Best,

Martin

Welcome, Martin.

I would like to know more about your ideas on WMS, what data is available & how we might use this.

Hi Malcom,

In germany we have e.g. the [GeoSeaPortal].
There is a lot of data available. The EU INSPIRE directive annex I will also include the stream network.
For the GeoSeaPortal there is also a WebCatalogueService interface available (and for all other INSPIRE compartible portals of the EU nations).
If we build up our own WCS we could also easily harvest the whole catalogue of the BSH.
Of course we could also integrate the desired Services manually.

Best,

Martin
